Joy, she sang. Joy is Joy Waters Fowler. Joy's joy is evident everywhere on this thirteen-song tribute to the holiday season, beginning with (what else?) Joy To The World. Ms. Fowler's joy was, unfortunately, not sufficient to roust me out of my late season Grinchiness when I received it in mid-December 2007, so this is our first opportunity to share the joy.

Joy Waters Fowler sings pop, in all it's various forms and formats. Featuring unique uptempo arrangements and vocoder-enhanced vocals, her songs run the gamut from smooth jazz, to Jesus-belt Baptist, to borderline Britneyesque pop. I enjoyed her eclecticism as well as her decision to update some of these classics. Even better was her inclusion of her duet with Eric Grant Bennett on Our Children's Eyes, Bennett's original holiday pop anthem. This tune was the centerpiece of the CD, both figuratively and literally, serving as the candle in the center of the holiday arrangement and lighting up the entire effort.

Of interest particularly to Christian pop aficionados, Joy Waters Fowler's Joy offers a little something for everyone.
