Our Review

The first thing you notice about Mak Kaylor's Glad Tidings is Kaylor's soulful voice. His voice comes through with all the earnestness of the best pop singers and the conviction of the best gospel singers. On Glad Tidings Kaylor performs an ample set (11 songs, 49 minutes) of sacred carols and Christian pop songs. Among these are a duet with Larry Gatlin, the inspirational They Saw A King, a song also included on The Gatlin Brothers Christmas Celebration.

There is a lot more here, including a couple of apparently new songs, at least to me, though I'm not up on Christian pop. And Kaylor's arrangements of such classics as Silent Night make for lively gospel by an obvious master of the form. All in all, this is a great pick for Christian listeners and a nice gift for the sinner in their life.
